The small arrow "generally" indicates which way your body faces.
Steps 7 and 8 are done twice (once in each direction) so you really have 7a, 7b, 8a, and 8b.
Try to be light on your feet (unless the move calls for a strong step).
Try to keep your body height constant. Don't bob up and down.
Be graceful - make it look easy.
